Tornado: American Red Cross App Reviews

The old app was great... literally was the only warning we received for a destructive tornado that touched down in our community in October 2014. Current app sounds the Tornado Warning siren for warnings posted 75-100 miles away and not even remotely headed our way. My radius is set to 25-miles so Im certain it isnt how Im setup.

This is a great warning app. It has been extremely helpful at alerting us when we are asleep if there is a warning. The alert is very loud and cant miss it! Thank you.

Doesnt work anymore. Says "cannot load alerts". Cant add locations and didnt tell me when a warning was in effect for my area.

I would have given this app five stars as it is a decent app. However, the alerts and alarm suddenly stopped. I live in an area at the time was under a particularly dangerous situation and needed the alerts and alarm.

This app woke me up in the middle of the night to warn me of a tornado that touched down 1/2 mile from my house. I like how you can customize the size of the radius for warnings and add your familys address for alerts as well. Great app.

The app is now useless since the alerts dont work and you cant even report the problem to there support people because thats down to

The font on the alerts is too pale to read. We had some Tornado Warnings last month but darned if I could see the details. The map does not show real weather. The entire Southeast is covered by rain and clouds today, but the map shows none of this. The Radar, Satellite, Clouds, and Rain settings all display totally clear skies. I stopped giving to the Red Cross. USELESS!

The app is unreliable as others have indicated. It also will say "monitoring hazards" but no further info available. With people depending more and more on these apps and thier phone an unreliable or non functioning app such as this could result in someone getting killed.

It works great until there is an actual tornado or severe storm then none of the alerts will load.

Used to be one of the best apps on the iPhone. New updates does not allow the app to load alerts. Siren come on and comes up as an error unable to load alerts.

The updated app is unreadable. Internal variable names are displaying and there is no data.

This is a wonderful app, but the latest update is a dud. The app has been "loading" for the past few days.

Went from a 5 to a 3 star rating! It crashes and for some reason not as easy to use before my iPhone 6! Please fix it!!!

This app came in handy when we had a tornado hit just down the road from us. Im so glad I had it because we dont have a tornado siren anywhere around us. This is like having our own siren in my house.

This app is awful. It tell that I am under a tornado warning from one hour ago. When I click on the notification it take me to the app, but the app tells me no alerts everything is okay. This app is ineffective, unreliable, and delayed timing!

Failed to send alerts after update. Upon reopening to inspect, find the update to have made the app less useful. You put style over content, a typical failure of app designers. sigh Seriously Red Crosd ought to roll back to previous version. It WAS good. Its now worthless.

I have not had any of the issues the other reviews have mentioned but would love for it to make an audible alarm even when on silent mode for warning.

The update is horrible. It wont do what it did before the update! The text is washed out and I cant find the older alerts!

5 mobile devices have his app in our house - not 1 went audible yesterday during Dallass tornado watches then warnings. Went through 2 rounds of city sirens - nothing on our mobile devices and they are set for notifications. A few weeks ago, 1 device got the audible tornado warning. Its been hit or miss for about a year. Was good for spring storms of 2014 - this year - been pretty worthless. Yesterday was the most needed and NOTHING. Could read about the alerts - but NEVER notified. Has become worthless!
